While I'm getting ready to get this blog going again, I've been crafting for a HC Congo that I'll be stocking items in starting 19 November 2010. But I came across this neat Shadow Box idea and wanted to share it with you - might make a great gift for someone on your Christmas list!
You don't even need a detailed tutorial for this, altho' one can be had with a simple search. lol. It's just a drawer from a chest of drawers, paint it, stencil it, cover it with fabric, and fill it with goodies and fun memories... and hang it on the wall.
Love it!

I'll be back with more info on the stocking of the HC soon - there will be hats as well as some smaller items for stocking stuffers. Stay tuned!

Welcome to the ~~Spring~~Summer Cleaning Sale at Kayleigh's Kloset! Most of the items for sale on this post are discontinued (mostly due to the now-postponed lead testing requirements for children's items - I don't have the time to track down all the flower companies to get their testing certifs.)... but feel free to cruise the rest of the site as all yarn based items will still be available. (not sure about tutus yet)

A few notes about the sale:
☆ It's first come first served and I'll be removing items as they are sold. If someone has already bought the item you wanted, I'll let you know. First time/date stamp gets the item. I'll be checking email frequently but please be patient as I get back with you.
☆ There is only one of each item unless otherwise noted. For the most part I can't create more but it can't hurt to ask. I do still have some flowers that have not yet been made into hats.

The ever popular Cocoon. :) This one is what I'd consider a "second" just b/c I didn't enjoy knitting with this particular yarn. lol. The stretchy-ness of the yarn is great for a cocoon but awkward to work with. Measures 20" in total length, 6" from top to where the V ends, and is 8.5 wide just under the V neck. (taken unstretched) This is a real soft acrylic (I'd still hand wash/dry flat tho') with great color transitions of baby blue, soft blue & white; great for spring/summer photos rather then the bulky winter weight cocoons. Regularly these sell for $60. average (depending on yarn) -- this one will sell for $30. + shipping. ($3. in padded envie, $5. priority) ☆ Shipping on this item is free if shipped with another item.

This skirtie is finally available! I know - it's been in process forever, but other customs took my time away from it. But it's finally done. Lmk if you want it by emailing me at kayleighskloset@gmail.com
I will be making more of these - Acrylic yarn will be $40. and wool will be $35 + the yarn cost. (Wool will be appropriate for cloth diapering, acrylic not so much - altho' I have heard of people in the cd community using them as such.) There might be some nice Alpaca Cotton usage in the future at the $45. price point. So there will be several options there.

Nice deep red with white waist and leg openings. Skirt features eyelet trim. Very cute! Acrylic yarn - so this one is not for use with cloth diapers, altho' it should fit over them fine.
Measurements:
Size: NB - SM (large NB - about 4 to 6 months? Depending on the child. Lots of stretch tho'.)
Waist flat & unstretched: 4.5"
Waist flat & stretched: 7"
Rise (top front of waist around to top back of waist): 16"

This first one is called the Madysen and will be available in various sizes, and colors. This style can also be made with stripes on one half & a solid color on the other half. The one in the pic is a newborn size using an off-white wool and novelty yarn trim and pompoms. It's $25.+ shipping.

This hat is, obviously, the Bunny. Sooo cute. I'm going to tie the ears with ribbon instead of yarn. The pic came out yellowy but this hat is made with the same yarn as the Madysen. Better images to come soon! This is a 3-6 month size. Would be darling paired with a tutu! $25.+ shipping.

This third hat style is new to Kayleigh's Kloset and is VERY popular with photogs and parents. The colors vary & each one is a one of a kind custom. Pricing starts at $40. for newborn.

Snugglers in these two yarns are $38. shipped. Please make note of what color yarn you would like when you order. (the one in a ball or the one that's not.)
The color isn't really true here. The white is really tan. And overall it's more muted. The gold is brown. I also have the ball on the right - I don't think it's quite as soft as the Snuggler on the left but I have a huge scarf out of it that I love. lol.
The Snuggler is very textured so you can't see the holes here but I think when you wrap a baby up and stretch it you'll see the holes. Very soft. Approx. 24x24 when stretched out a bit. 24ish x 15 or so not stretched. This gives you enough to snuggle with but not have it be bulky from too much fabric.

Sample photos (using the yarn not in a ball) are done by Carrie Steffe of EMAphotography (thanks Carrie!) - if you are in the NJ area & need photographs look her up - she does GREAT work.

Cute Carnation Flower hat is ready to ship. Hat measures 18 inches all around bottom. Carnation flowers measure 3 inches across and hat is completely covered. No gaps that you'll have to fill in later in PS. This hat coordinates well with the hot pink tutu but should match the lighter pink tutu. Matching tutu can be ready to ship in 2 days after order.

This tutu is soft hot pink shimmer tulle and ready to ship! Tutu strips are randomly knotted and 12 inches long. Elastic waist is 17 inches around unstretched - about 26 inches stretched. (size child) -- I can easily make the waist a little smaller if requested.

I will try to keep a few in stock for phographers, but most of these will be custom spots. If I have spots available let me know the following:

+ girl/boy/gn colorways
+ look at the Choose Your Yarn section and note any that you love (or, just as important, ones you don't love!) and I'll incorporate them into your hat.
+ Anything else you want me to know. For instance if you want solid tassles (you can even pick the color!) or verigated.
I will do my very best to accommodate your requests so you will love this hat!

These hats can be knit up in many many different patterns... solid stripes, verigated stripes, combo solids + verigated, skinny strips, the variety is pretty endless.

Introductory Pricing:
My yarn
0-3 mo. (12") - $35.
3-12 mo. (14") - $40.
1-3 yrs. (16") - $45.
4+ yrs. (18") - $50.
Adult (20") - $60.

Your yarn my needles - deduct $5. from the price of your hat and I'll send back any leftover yarn w/ your hat. I'll need at least 4oz. total of yarn for up to size 1-3 years, and 8oz. for the two larger sizes.
